Electro-Voice and Dynacord kit for new Bavarian stadium

Loudspeakers from Electro-Voice and amplifiers from Dynacord have been installed at the new Max Aicher Arena in the Bavarian resort of Inzell.

The €36m (£31.7m) facility - which is a conversion of the original open-air stadium into a futuristic indoor arena - celebrated its grand opening recently with the Single Distances World Championships in speed skating.

Parkstetten-based TRE Professionelle Audiotechnik was responsible for the installation of the site's sound reinforcement system and fitted 89 Electro-Voice Sx600 loudspeakers powered by twelve DYNACORD DSA amplifiers.

The solution adopted in Inzell is a combined sound reinforcement - for musical material - and voice alarm system - for evacuation in case of emergency. The centerpiece of the digital evacuation and voice alarm system is the DYNACORD Promatrix 4000, with the control and supervision of the entire audio installation being performed by two DYNACORD P64-1500 audio system controllers.

The Championships were shown on a giant screen in the Party Zone outside the venue, where an active three-way system had been installed.

This comprised Electro-Voice XLD281 line-array elements, flown Electro-Voice XS212 subwoofers and ground-stacked Electro-Voice Xsubs. These were complemented by Xi1152A/64F loudspeakers for the near field.

The entire installation was powered by Electro-Voice TG7 power amplifiers equipped with RCM26 modules, remote-supervised and controlled from the FOH position via IRIS-Net.

Sound reinforcement in the Party Zone was by Stubenberg-based MSE-Tontechnik.
